Ladies/Cailini

Camogie was played in Ballinamore for short periods, around 1917 and again in the 1945-1950 period. The most recent bout of Camogie was in the late 1990s when Fr Oliver O'Reilly started a schools team which played in Cavan competitions. Above is a Ballinamore schools team from 1998. Front(L to R). Ladies Football.  For the first time ever a Ballinamore Ladies football club was affiliated in 2003. Geraldine McIntyre, Dawn McKeon, Padraig |McKeon and Seán Reynolds were the people behind it. Teams were affiliated at under 14, under 16 and Junior level. The Juniors qualified for the junior shield final, which they lost to Fenagh. Pictured above is the team that contested that final.
